St Peter’s Church Restoration Appeal
With such encouraging support from the community of Hook Norton, plus some generous grants, the thermometer outside St Peter’s Church now stands at just over £75,000. With a target of £120,000, we are progressing well.
The events leading up to Christmas were enjoyed by many:
World War II was the theme of our latest Extravaganza. The scaffolding in Church was used as an “air raid shelter” backdrop for the Hook Norton Hand Bell Ringers and the Hooky Voices, Hooky Quartet, readers and soloists, who gave joyous and poignant performances. It was an afternoon of fascination for the young. Some with longer memories brought along their own memorabilia to share. A “far from wartime afternoon tea” completed the occasion.
Demonstration of Christmas Flower Decorations by Pat Fletcher was a stimulating afternoon to a full house. Some were lucky to win Pat’s beautiful arrangements.
Christmas Tree Festival was a bonanza of imaginative trees created by village groups. It opened with a joyful “Christmas Songs” family occasion from the school. Throughout the weekend there was great entertainment and games, as well as delicious refreshments. The Beavers’ tree entry was voted the most popular, but every tree was truly a winner.
The Celebration of Hook Norton Dinner takes place on 21 January in Hook Norton Primary School, the plans to date, promise an exciting evening.
Forthcoming events are:

Snowball lunches and suppers are still running. Winter months are a time when we need good cheer and fellowship, so why not snowball then! That would help the winter zip past. If you would like to join the snowballers, contact Mary 737463 or Angel 730512.
John Morris is still busy sharpening. So call John on 737905.
